Tile Care & Maintenance
Daily Cleaning Tips
While tile is extremely durable, it's not impervious to damage. Proper care and maintenance will always be needed to prolong the life of your floors.
Preventative maintenance is the best approach to floor care. Establish a daily routine that includes sweeping, dusting, or vacuuming. You'll also want to wet mop and address spills properly. You may consider investing in doormats & area rugs to keep dirt off your flooring.
Dealing With Spills
For common liquid spills like milk, wine, and pet accidents, immediately wipe away or mop clean. Tile can get very slippery when wet, so it’s important to address the spill before your flooring becomes a hazard! Promptly dry with a clean cloth after wet mopping to avoid letting moisture sit on your tile’s surface.
Use only manufacturer-approved cleaning products on your tile! These should be free of acids, vinegars, chlorine, and ammonia. Certain chemicals can damage or discolor your tile's grout or its actual surface, so it's important to consult your manufacturer's cleaning guidelines.
